Basic Skills / Pre-GED

Adult basic education classes are for students who need to improve reading, writing, and math skills prior to GED® preparation, to review for other courses, or for employment requiring a placement test. Advanced English as a second language (ESL) students also take these classes to prepare to transition to GED®.

Basic skills instruction is delivered through a combination of computer-based programs, direct teacher instruction, and small-group work in a supportive atmosphere.

Mandatory orientations — which include placement testing — are every Monday at 1:00 pm or 6:00 pm. Be prepared to stay approximately two hours.
