A great strength of the Escondido Union High School District is the breadth and depth of our available course of study (see the Course Description Book below for information regarding the specific courses we offer).
In addition to the core content areas of English, mathematics, history/social-science, and science, we also offer a robust set of elective courses to meet the needs and interests of our diverse student body. EUHSD is also dedicated to offering a variety of Career Technical Education (CTE) classes to help ensure students are prepared for college and career. In addition, students have many options when it comes to enrolling in advanced courses of study including a wide variety of Advanced Placement courses.
When it comes to ensuring eligibility for the California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) systems, students have many options to ensure they earn a-g credit. Click here to learn more about a-g credit and here to search our schools’ a-g course eligibility lists.

Like school districts across the nation, our curriculum has and continues to be updated to better align to the wave of new learning standards and frameworks designed to help ensure students are prepared for success in the 21st century. Our curriculum approval process is robust and allows teachers and community members to provide direction and input.
Our ongoing goal is to engage students with a custom course-of-study based on their interests that prepares them for college and a variety of careers. By working with local, county, state, national educational and industry partners, we stay on the pulse of the issues, trends, and ideas that are shaping today’s world so we can inform and update our programs and courses. Please be sure to communicate regularly with your student’s school counselor to ensure the course-of-study chosen meets his or her needs.
