Maintenance
The Maintenance program insures the structural integrity and safe condition of buildings and grounds owned by the school district. In addition, the program prolongs and protects the functional life of district capital assets.
The Maintenance Department determines the most urgent needs, protects, and preserves district resources, minimizing the risk of injury to students and employees by maintaining a comprehensive planned and scheduled maintenance program.
The Maintenance Department also creates plans and projects to protect the District from liability. Furthermore, the Department utilizes their expertise to maximize the allocation of limited resources. The goal of these plans and projects is to assure continuing uninterrupted service and to prevent breakdowns.
The Escondido Union High School District’s Maintenance Department handles thousands of work order requests annually. This could not be done without dedicated and knowledgeable personnel.
Operations
The school District’s operation program encompasses those activities related to a building’s normal usage. The costs of utilities, janitorial services, pest control, and waste management are generally included within the scope of operations and are not maintenance related.
