Congratulations to Escondido High School’s Kelly Ladendorf Boden for being selected by the California State Athletic Directors Association (CSADA) as the Norm Mackenzie Rookie Athletic Director of the Year for San Diego County. The award is presented to athletic directors who, within their first four years, have demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to their profession. She will be formally recognized in April at the CSADA state conference.

Escondido, CA – Two talented 12th grade students from Del Lago Academy recently represented their school and Escondido Union High School District in the Live Art Competition, which is part of the Grand Avenue Fall Festival on October 19, 2025.

Escondido, CA – Orange Glen High School students were treated to a special visit on October 22, 2025, from award-winning modern country artist Steven Cade, whose Giving Guitars Tour made a memorable stop on campus. Cade performed three songs for two combined guitar classes, filling the school’s music room with energy, inspiration, and heartfelt songs.

Escondido, CA – The Escondido Union High School District is proud to announce that the City of Escondido held a ceremonial unveiling of a new student mural on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Washington Park. This mural, designed by
Jessica Huynh, an 11th grade student at Del Lago academy, was submitted for review and approval by the City of Escondido and the Escondido Public Art Commission. Del Lago Academy teacher Soudabeh “Sudi” Memarzadeh supported Jessica throughout the submission process.
