“Valley High School is a special place where staff are committed to helping students who are most in need of support,” said Superintendent Dr. Anne Staffieri. “The entire Valley team emulates the school’s motto of ‘learning for all, whatever it takes’ through their ongoing dedication, efforts, and outcomes and are so deserving of the CCEA recognition.”

“Introducing these new buses is just one step toward making at least 60 percent of our school bus fleet energy efficient, which the state has mandated we do by 2040,” said Director of Transportation Linda Rendon. “We are excited to be ahead of that schedule and are already looking at ways to fund additional electric buses for our district.”

“Pumpkinfest is a yearly tradition that we know our community looks forward to,” said Agriculture Teacher Marc Reyburn. “Our students work hard to provide families with a home grown fall farming experience.”

The Escondido Union High School District will be hosting COVID-19 and flu vaccine clinics at each of the five high school campus- Del Lago Academy, Escondido, Orange Glen, San Pasqual, and Valley High Schools – the week of Oct. 25.

Escondido eighth graders and their families are invited to learn more about Escondido Union High School District schools and their unique programs through February 16. The Choose You initiative is for incoming freshmen and gives students and families the opportunity to review information on each of the school’s electives, Career Technical Education (CTE) and AVID programs, and dual enrollment opportunities, so they can make the choices that are right for them.

Orange Glen and Escondido high schools were recognized for closing the gender gap in Advanced Placement Computer Science classes by the AP Computer Science College Board. Orange Glen earned the AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to both AP Computer Science A and AP Computer Science Principles. The award acknowledges 1,020 schools for their work toward equal gender representation during the 2020-21 school year and Orange Glen was one of only 61 schools to be recognized for achieving this important result in both AP computer science courses. Escondido High earned the recognition for expanding young women’s access to AP Computer Science Principles and was one of 760 schools to be recognized for achieving this important result in AP CSP.

The Escondido Union High School District (EUHSD) governing board passed a resolution recognizing February as Career Technical Education (CTE) Month. The recognition celebrates the importance of the 35 unique pathways in nine industry sectors offered at Del Lago Academy and Escondido, Orange Glen, San Pasqual, and Valley high schools.

The Escondido Union High School District gathered to celebrate the opening of Wellness Centers at Orange Glen and San Pasqual high schools this week. The Wellness Centers each consist of a student center, as well as meeting spaces for school social workers and community partners to engage with students. In the Wellness Centers, students can take a self-assessment and access mental health resources, including books, time with social workers, and more. The Wellness Centers are designed to provide an environment for students centered on increasing and enhancing mental well-being.
